SUMMARY:A PEI Symphony Orchestra Presentation
DESCRIPTION:A PEI Symphony Orchestra Presentation \nReclaimed speaks to home\, and what happens when home leaves us. The PEISO is thrilled to welcome Cris Derksen\, a Juno-nominated Indigenous cellist and composer\, who is internationally renowned for their genre-defying music that bridges the traditional and contemporary. This moving program includes Derksen’s own works including Round Dance\, Parkdale and Controlled Burn. Paired with Nat Bartsch’s introspective Hope and Margaret Bonds’ Montgomery Variations\, which responds to the American civil rights movement\, the program also features Smetana’s ‘Die Moldau’ from Má Vlast\, a passionate tribute to national identity and personal belonging. \n

SUMMARY:HUMANE SOCIETY BAKE SALE
DESCRIPTION:Professional and Novice Bakers Welcome!\n  \n\n\n\n\nThe Island’s SWEETEST fundraiser is BACK!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEach year\, the PEI Humane Society dusts off the dreary days of winter with a delicious fundraiser aimed at adding a little sweetness to the lives of lost\, homeless\, and abandoned companion animals.\n\nWe’re taking sign-ups RIGHT NOW for the biggest Bake Sale on the Island. We’re looking for bakeries\, independent bakers\, and fundraisers alike. There are so many ways to get involved.\n\nHere’s how it works:\n\n– Bakeries – Design a delicious dessert or treat to be sold during the bake sale (from now until April 11th). Proceeds from the sale of your treat are donated to the PEI Humane Society and go toward advancing our work across the Island. Popular treats from past years have included cupcakes\, donuts\, cookies\, brownies\, and breads. Bonus points if it’s animal-themed!\n\n– Independent Bakers – On April 2nd\, the PEI Humane Society will be hosting a Bake Sale at our shelter. We will be selling delicious treats made by folks from within our community. Bring your baked goods to the shelter on April 2nd between 8am and 12pm to be sold in our on-site Bake Sale.\n\n– Fundraisers – Interested in running your own show? Excellent! In past years\, independent fundraisers have had a lot of fun and brought a lot of smiles to their communities in honour of a good cause. Sign up to run your own local bake sale and our team will help promote it and send more customers your way!\n\nWe’re asking ALL participants to sign up by clicking the link below and filling in some quick information. This will help us promote your Bake Sale and send as many Islanders your way as possible!\n\nLast year\, dozens of local groups and bakeries got involved. This year\, we’re excited to see how sweet our Island can get!\n\n\n\n\n
