Donnie Arsenault and Kathy Pendergast of Egmont-Bay are known as generous people who are always ready to help their families, friends and neighbours when they’re going through a rough time. Now that it’s Donnie and Kathy who are having difficulties, the community is being invited to give them a helping hand.

The couple lost their home and all of their possessions in a recent fire that made headlines in Island newspapers. Their families and friends are therefore organizing a benefit night, complete with a variety show and an auction, to raise funds for them Saturday, July 8, at 8 p.m. at the Wellington Royal Canadian Legion.
